Abstract:

Venous thromboembolism(VTE) is a serious complication of joint replacement in perioperative period. At present, sufficient attention has been paid to postoperative thrombosis in clinical practice, but there are few reports about preoperative thrombosis. This article intended to review the incidence of VTE before hip and knee arthroplasty as well as the progress in diagnosis and treatment.
