Gait analysis in knee diseases

Abstract

Abstract:

Gait analysis is a well-established tool for the quantitative assessment of gait disturbances providing functional diagnosis, assessment for treatment planning, and monitoring of disease progress.The aims of gait analysis can be divided into three different categories: to characterize the gait pattern of a certain population, to classify and categorize the functional severity of a certain population and to evaluate the effect of a given intervention. This article briefly introduced the latest progresses of gait analysis in knee diseases including knee arthritis, anterior cruciate ligament injury and reconstruction, meniscus injury repair and so on.
