Abstract:

Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic spondyloarthropathy of unknown cause. Total hip arthroplasty is a surgical treatment with good results for pain and functional disability that can not be relieved by drugs caused by ankylosing spondylitis with hip involvement. The quality of life of the patients undergoing hip replacement has been greatly improved. However, there are still many problems worthy of attention for surgeons when performing total hip arthroplasty for patients with ankylosing spondylitis involving the hip, such as the surgical indications for young patients, preoperative preparation different from primary replacement, outcomes of total hip replacement for ankylosing spondylitis with hip involvement, postoperative complications and prevention. This article explained the progress of clinical research in the above aspects.
