Advances of minimally invasive anterolateral approach in total hip arthroplasty

Abstract:

Total hip arthroplasty is an effective method for treatment of severe hip joint disease. One of thecontroversy on twenty-first Century in total hip arthroplastymainly focus on small incision and traditional incision merits. Minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty has the advantages of less trauma and faster postoperative recovery. The minimally invasive anterolateral approach is a classic minimally invasive approach. This article reviewed indications, contraindications, advantages and complications of minimally invasive anterolateral approach.
