Abstract:

In joint surgery, femoral osteotomy is an effective auxiliary technique for the joint replacement for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) patients with high dislocation. Femoral osteotomy includes greater trochanter osteotomy and subtrochanteric osteotomy which can be divided into transverse, oblique, chevron and step-cut types. However, the choice of femoral osteotomy mostly depends on the clinical experience of the surgeon, and no consensus has been reached. The related postoperative complications such as dislocation and non-union of osteotomy also occur from time to time. This article reviewed the research status of osteotomy methods, discussed their advantages and disadvantages, in order to provide suggestions and guidance for clinical treatment.
