Abstract:
Objective To study the efficacy of continuity care for patients with gouty arthritis after operation.
Methods From January 2016 to December 2019, 52 patients with gouty arthritis who underwent surgical treatment in the orthopedic department of the First Affiliated Hospihal of Guangzhou Medical University were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group after the operation, 26 cases each. The control group received routine health guidance and the observation group received continuity care after discharge. Quality of life and the level of serum uric acid were compared between the two groups at six and 12 months after discharge by repeated measures analysis of variance.
Results At the follow-up of six and 12 months, there were statistically difference between the two groups regarding quality of life(F=8.548, 12.255, both P<0.05)and the level of serum uric acid(F=10.319, 17.687, both P<0.05). The therapeutic effect in the observation group was superior to that in the control group.
Conclusion Continuity care methods can effectively improve quality of life and decrease the value of blood uric acid of patients with gouty arthritis after operation.
