Effects of debridement antibiotics irrigation and retention for periprosthetic joint infection

Abstract:

Periprosthetic joint infection is the most devastating complication after joint replacement surgery. The infection seriously affects the quality of life , and causes heavy burden to families and society. Debridement is still recommended as the preferred treatment for acute PJI, due to small trauma and low cost. However, the success rates of the literature reports are very different, how to improve the success rate of retention prosthesis? This article reviewed this problem.
