Abstract:

To standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment for hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA) and improve the scientific utilization of clinical data, an expert correspondence was conducted applying the Delphi method. According to the existing evidence-based guidelines for hip and knee OA and referring to international cohort data standards, an expert consensus on the index system and corresponding standard dataset for hip and knee OA were formed. The experts in the specialist consensus group were selected from the department of orthopedics and academic methodolgical experts in four tertiary A hospitals and colleges in Shanghai. The established index system contained 74 element characteristics, covering the aspects of disease diagnosis, treatment and follow-up, were corresponding to the 12 standard modules in the dataset. The index system and standardized dataset provided a basis for improving clinical management and setting up the database for hip and knee OA, which might further support the conduct of high-quality real-world studies.
