Abstract:

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is one of the most successful procedures for the treatment of severe end-stage knee disease. With the increasing demand for TKA in China, the number of revision TKA will increase rapidly. Considering the complexity of revision TKA, partial knee revision has become an option for clinicians when handling TKA failure. Compared with other revision methods, isolated polyethylene exchange (IPE) has the advantages of less trauma and quick recovery, so it is worth considering firstly. At present, there is a lack of systematic discussion on how to correctly master and apply the indications and contraindications of IPE. This paper focused on the research progress of isolated polyethylene exchange at revision TKA.
