Abstract:
Objective To investigate the current situation of home care needs of elderly patients with total hip replacement (THR) and analyze the influencing factors, so as to provide the basis for formulating targeted continuing nursing programs.
Methods From June 2019 to July 2020, elderly patients undergoing THR in the Fourth People′s Hospital of Nanhai District were selected. The general data collection table, home care demand scale, self-care ability scale and social support rating scale were used to investigate. The influencing factors of home care needs of elderly patients with THR were analyzed by single factor analysis of variance and multiple linear regression analysis.
Results A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed and 384 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the effective recovery rate was 96.0%. The average score of home care demand of elderly patients with THR was (18.4±5.3) points, and the demand rate was 57.6%; the score of rehabilitation care demand was the highest (4.5±1.3), and the demand rate was 63.8%. The results of multivariate regression analysis showed that education level, postoperative time, complications, living alone, self-care ability and social support level were independent influence factors (R2=0.773, P<0.05).
Conclusion The elderly patients with THR have a high demand for home care, so the clinical medical staff should pay attention to the individual assessment of patients of patients to provide individualized intervention care.
