Early diagnosis of artificial joint aseptic loosening after total joint arthroplasty

Abstract:

Total joint arthroplasty(TJA) is the most common and effective treatment for a variety of end-stage joint-related diseases. Complication rate, especially prostheses aseptic loosening, rises. It seriously affects prostheses survival time, thus, revision surgery is inevitable. Increasing the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis of aseptic loosening will be important to evaluate the prostheses wear, to extend the prostheses life and to improve the patients’ life quality. This article reviewed the advancements of early diagnoses of aseptic loosening.
